The Directions:
- First things first – print out TWO copies of our heart printable. One in pink and on in color {feel free to change this step up though!}
- Go ahead and have children trim out some {or all} the heart shapes from the two printables. These will become the leaves of the tree. Set them aside for now.
- To make the trunk of the tree, grab your brown cardstock paper, pencil and scissors.
- Pick a hand – any hand will do! Have your child lay one hand in the center of the paper.
- Using the pencil, trace around your child’s hand and part of their arm as well.
- Trim out that design and discard excess paper.
- Now we are heading towards the last few steps! Grab all your paper pieces and the large paper plate.
- Glue the heart cutouts ALL over the paper plate. Anywhere you want! There are no real rules to this step.
- To finish off the Paper Plate Valentine’s Day Tree – simply staple the handprint cutout to the decorated paper plate.
- And that’s it! Now display it proudly for ALL to see!
