It’s another new day and we have ANOTHER kid friendly Valentine’s Day themed kid craft to share with you all!
This time I’m titling it Paper Plate Valentine Holding Puppy and I hope you love it as much as I do! #gluedtomycrafts
My excitement gets bigger and bigger, as we get closer to February. I am seriously so excited to see what 2019 holds for Glued To My Crafts! I have so many new ideas and concepts in mind, that I just can’t wait to share them all with you, in the coming weeks {if only there was more time in the day!}
Anyways – I’m a little side tracked. You are clearly here to see what this Valentine Holding Puppy tutorial is all about. It’s just an adorable puppy holding {what I like to think} a “valentine chocolate box” that just so happens to be a paper plate. Do you see the vision too?
And of course, just like what you can expect more of on our website, it includes a FREE printable template from us to get you started. The puppy head and paws will fit perfectly on ANY heart shaped paper plate you may find this time of year.
I just so happened to pick up mine at Michaels recently but Target has some larger in their seasonal stuff right now. And no worries if you can’t find any in your area. You could easily make this tutorial still work by either hand cutting a large heart out of paper OR cutting a plain paper plate into a heart shape as well. So many ideas, we hope you make it work!
So now… below you will find all the details, instructions and supply list for our latest Paper Plate Valentine Holding Puppy tutorial!
Happy crafting, my friends! #gluedtomycrafts

Valentine Holding Puppy Craft Supplies:
- Free Puppy Head & Paws Template {download HERE}
- White Cardstock
- Color Printer
- Crayons or Markers {I used a shade of pink}
- Basic Craft Scissors
- Heart Shaped Paper Plate {affiliate link to gold ones}
- Hand Held Stapler
- Large Eyeball Stickers or Wiggle Eyes
- Paper Heart Doilies
- optional – Valentine’s Day Embellishments and Colored Cardstock
Directions:
- First things first – download and print the puppy template above. Print it on simple white cardstock. You need ONE dog printable per craft.
- Grab the markers {or crayons, pencils etc.} and color the puppy face and paws in the printable. I went with a pink puppy Valentine’s Day but you can do ANY color you like!
- Once done with the coloring, trim out each section in the printable and set aside. You will have ONE head and TWO paws. Discard excess paper.
- Now grab the heart shaped paper plate and stapler.
- Staple the puppy face pieces you just made to the paper plate piece, so it looks like she/he is peeking out from behind it {or in another view, the puppy is holding the heart!}
- Go ahead and either staple or glue the puppy paws in place on the paper plate.
- Add the wiggle eyes so your puppy can see.
- Add other embellishments you see fit {like a paper heart doily to the center of the paper plate} before displaying proudly!
