Valentine's Day Puppy Craft For Kids

Looking for a fun and easy Valentine’s Day craft for the kids? Look no further than this adorable puppy craft!

Craft Supplies:

  • Puppy Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons {I used pink}
  • Craft Scissors
  • Large Heart Shapes
  • Medium Heart Shapes
  • Paper Heart Doilies
  • Stapler
  • Large Wiggle Eyes

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the valentine puppy template that is listed above in the supply list.
  • Print it out on a piece of simple white cardstock paper. You need ONE puppy printable per Valentine’s Day craft.
  • Next up – grab the crayons {or markers, pencils etc.} and color in the face and paws in the valentine dog printable. I went with a pink puppy but you can do whatever color you like!
  • Once done with the coloring step, trim out each section in the printable and set them aside. You will have ONE head and TWO paws to work with.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab all your heart shapes and the stapler.
  • Start layering them {biggest to smallest} and staple them all together to secure in place.
  • Now you are ready to staple the puppy face piece you made earlier, to the back of the entire heart piece, so it looks like she/he is peeking out from behind it {so it looks like the dog is holding the heart!}
  • Follow that up by stapling the puppy paws in place but on the front of the design. Again, it will look like the dog is holding the heart.
  • To finish off the Valentine dog craft, add the wiggle eyes so your puppy friend can see.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying proudly!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
