The Girl Behind Glued To My Crafts

When engaging in craft activities, it is important for young children to have adult supervision at ALL times. It is also recommended to use supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Feel free to modify materials or steps to meet your specific requirements.

Meet Me, Stacey Gibbon The Girl Behind Glued To My Crafts

  • Meet me, Stacey Gibbon. I’m the photographer, content creator and writer behind Glued To My Crafts. I have been developing my website since early 2012, shortly after my son was born. I have a HUGE passion for sharing crafty things and this little website of mine, is my outlet on spreading creativity to everyone in the world.
  • We are a military family {Air Force} and currently live near the Omaha, Nebraska area.
  • Fun fact – I’m a military brat turned military spouse. I’m also German/American and lived in Germany till the age of ten.
  • My full time job is this very blog and I gladly wear the title of “that crafty girl.” With this career of mine, l like to be involved in things that allow me to “bless” others with the gift of creativity. Online AND physically. In the past I have taught various kids craft events at our previous military bases, been a room mom AND our family has also been actively involved in our son’s school’s PTA.
  • My favorite color changes every day and tends to go in line with the time of year. My husband says he can never keep up with me. I also dance between vintage and modern flair for style. One thing you should know about me is that I like to be different than my peers. I like setting trends and stepping outside the box…. especially when it comes to the tutorials I hit publish on.
  • My secret weapon to getting through the day? Coffee! LOTS OF IT. You will always find me with a cup in my hand. Give me a dark roast and a splash of milk to see me smile. You can actually make my day and buying me a cup of coffee via this link if you like!
  • My motto in my crafty life is that you can’t go wrong with adding some chunky craft glitter or a handprint cutout. One or the other is usually added to all of our craft tutorials and handmade gift ideas that I share on this website. The more, the better!
  • I’m also a firm believer in making EVERY day and/or holiday a big deal in our home. Hence, why you will see TONS of crafts centered around each season we pass. Holidays weren’t a big deal in my home growing up but I want to change that mindset for my son. We love celebrating even the smallest holiday. It’s all about making those memories and just being “intentional” with how we spend our time together. Even as my son gets older, we still pull out the candles, confetti and nose makers to celebrate BIG!
  • Now a little about my crafty journey and our website. The name Glued To My Crafts was something I actually came up several years ago, while we were living in Turkey. At the time, the name came to me while I was selling handmade cards and jewelry to friends & family afar. Fast forward two years later when I was pregnant with our son and I decided to make a blog to share all our crafty adventures together, so my friends and family could still support me in a small way. That’s when our DIY Sharpie Mug post went VIRAL on Buzzfeed, when they featured us in a Pinterest fail post. We were the ONLY craft idea in the entire roundup to pass the “test” and get the stamp of approval. After that little feature, everything changed for me and here we are today with OVER 2,000 tutorials and counting!
  • From there and through tons of hard work & dedication, GTMC has grown leaps & bounds. We currently serve nearly half-a-million readers a month on our website and our social media channels. I would like to think, we are the go-to website for easy kid craft ideas.
  • Although I hope to keep our DIY website alive for many years to come, my real dream is to one day own my own craft studio and teach classes of all sorts, while my husband wants to have his own brew shop next door.
  • I also hope to maybe have a published craft book or two under my belt soon. Until then, this little blog of mine is my creative outlet, where I really enjoy sharing all the crafty ideas that come through my head. It just melts my heart thinking of all of those we have inspired in the last ten years through this very website. Hopefully after you read all these fun facts about me, you are also inspired to give a few tutorials of ours a try as well!
