Meet Stacey Gibbon: The mind behind Glued To My Crafts

A collage of family photos featuring Stacey Gibbon, a boy, and a young child in cheerful moments, with @GLUEDTOMYCRAFTS written across the center image of Stacey and the boy smiling in a cafe.

Welcome to my colorful corner of the internet! I am Stacey Gibbon, the quirky writer, enthusiastic creator, and self-proclaimed editor behind Glued To My Crafts. If you love chunky glitter, handprint art, and making memories with your children, you have found your new digital home.

Since starting this website in 2012, I have dedicated my career to sharing easy kid crafts and DIY tutorials that anyone can master. My goal is simple: I want to help you spread creativity to everyone in your world. Whether you need a quick weekend project or a handmade gift idea for a special holiday, you will find endless inspiration right here.

Let us dive into my story, the mission behind this website, and how we can make something amazing together!

Meet Stacey:

Hello, new friends! I am the photographer, content creator, and writer who keeps the glue flowing and the glitter shining on this website.

My journey into professional crafting began shortly after my son was born. I wanted a way to document our creative adventures and share them with friends and family. What started as a small digital scrapbook quickly blossomed into a massive community of makers. I now gladly wear the title of “that crafty girl” everywhere I go.

Family is the core of everything I do. We are a proud military family and have recently put our roots down in the Omaha, Nebraska area. The military lifestyle is deeply ingrained in who I am. I grew up as an Air Force brat, living in Germany until I was ten years old, and eventually transitioned into my current role as a military spouse. Moving frequently has taught me how to adapt, find joy in small moments, and build community wherever we land.

Through this blog, I get to bless others with the gift of creativity. Over the years, I have taught various kids’ craft events at our military bases, served as a room mom, and actively participated in our school’s PTA. Crafting brings people together, and I love fostering that connection both online and in my local community.

Our Mission at Glued To My Crafts:

I firmly believe in making every single day and holiday a big deal in our home. Growing up, holidays were not heavily celebrated in my house. I decided early on that I wanted to change that mindset for my son and my family.

We love celebrating everything, from major holidays to the smallest seasonal shifts. You will notice that my creative crafting ideas heavily revolve around the changing seasons. Pulling out the candles, confetti, and noisemakers is our favorite way to celebrate big.

My core crafting philosophy is that you can never go wrong by adding some chunky craft glitter or a cute handprint cutout. Almost all of our craft tutorials feature one of these two elements. The more sparkle and personal touches, the better!

Ultimately, this website exists to help you be intentional with how you spend time with your family. Even as children grow older, sitting down together at the kitchen table to paint, glue, and create builds lasting memories. I design every tutorial to be accessible, affordable, and most importantly, fun.

Crafting Highlights:

Building Glued To My Crafts has been a wild, rewarding adventure. The name actually came to me several years ago while my husband and I were stationed in Turkey. I was making and selling handmade cards and jewelry to friends back home. Fast forward to my pregnancy with our son, and I launched the blog to keep everyone updated on our creative projects.

Then, everything changed.

We posted a tutorial for a DIY Sharpie Mug. Buzzfeed picked it up and featured us in a “Pinterest fail roundup” post. Out of the entire roundup, our mug was the only craft idea to pass the test and earn their stamp of approval. That single viral moment put us on the map.

Since that exciting feature, we have achieved incredible milestones:

  • Massive Content Library: We have published over 2,000 unique tutorials and keep adding more every week.
  • Global Reach: We proudly serve nearly half a million readers a month across our website and social media channels.
  • Community Trust: We have established Glued To My Crafts as the go-to destination for easy kid craft ideas.

Fun Facts About Me:

Want to know the woman behind the glue gun? Here are a few quirky facts about me:

  • Coffee is my secret weapon: I drink lots of it! You will rarely catch me without a cup in my hand. A dark roast with a splash of milk always makes me smile.
  • My favorite color changes constantly: My husband jokes that he can never keep up with me. My color preferences shift with the seasons, keeping my style fresh and vibrant.
  • I love mixing styles: I constantly dance between vintage charm and modern flair. I love blending old-school paper crafts with bright, trendy designs.
  • I strive to stand out: I like being different from my peers. Setting trends and stepping outside the box is my favorite way to design new tutorials.

Looking Ahead: My Crafty Dreams

While I plan to keep this DIY website thriving for many years, I still have big dreams for the future.

One day, I want to open my very own physical craft studio. I envision a bright, welcoming space where I can teach classes of all sorts to people in my community. My husband plans to open his own brew shop right next door, making it the ultimate destination for creativity and connection.

I also hope to publish a craft book or two in the near future. Having a physical book filled with my favorite handmade gift ideas would be an absolute dream come true.

Until then, this blog remains my ultimate creative outlet. It melts my heart to think about all the families we have inspired over the last decade.
