Inspired by our recent experience at the local ballet, today’s Popsicle Stick Ballerinas Kid Craft is for the little girls and dancers in your life!
I admit it. My son had NOTHING to do with this particular blog post and I’m so glad I have something “girly” to share in the kids craft department {although boys will love making these as well!}
So let’s grab our supplies and “dance” into craft heaven with these adorable & completely customizable wood stick ballerinas! Then display as is OR use them in some creative imaginative play. Whatever you do – I hope you have fun with it!
Happy crafting my friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your ballerinas made from craft sticks and cupcake liners on our Facebook page to admire! I can’t wait to see how you customize them! #gluedtomycrafts
Popsicle Stick Ballerinas Craft Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – one per ballerina craft
* Pipe Cleaners – one per ballerina craft
* Cupcake Liners – one per ballerina craft
* School Glue
* Paint Pens {or craft paint & paint brushes}
* Various Sheets of Colored Cardstock
* Paper Craft Bow Punch {affiliate link – similar}
optional – rhinestones, glitter, glitter glue
Directions:
* First have children flatten/fold their cupcake liners in half and glue them to the center of their popsicle stick. This is the ballerina’s tutu.
* Repeat for each ballerina puppet you are making today.
* Once the cupcake liners are down, grab your paint pens and draw on a face, hair and of course – ballet slippers onto the popsicle stick.
* Glue on a “hairbow” paper punch out to finish the glamorous look.
* To finish off the cupcake liner and craft stick ballerina puppet, have children wrap/bend a single pipe cleaner a few times around the center of the popsicle sticks to resemble arms.
* At this point children can also add other embellishments {like scrapbook stickers, glitter, rhinestones} that they see fit to really make it their own.
* Then display and/or play with proudly!

This is such a cute and simple craft idea, we might need to incorporate it into our studio birthday parties.
