Cotton Ball & Popsicle Stick Santa - Christmas Kid Craft Idea

Create adorable Santa decorations with this easy cotton ball and popsicle stick craft. Perfect for kids, classrooms, and holiday fun!

Craft Supplies:

Gathering supplies for this craft is refreshingly simple. Most items can be found in your existing craft stash or picked up inexpensively at any dollar store.

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 9 per craft
  • Skin Toned Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Red  Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Small Circle Punch

Directions:

  • First assemble the base of your Santa. Glue NINE jumbo popsicle sticks together to look like a fence.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now punch/and or cut out the facial embellishments for Santa, from the sheets of cardstock paper. Think eyes, nose and hat.
  • To finish off the craft, glue on the Santa paper embellishments to the front of the popsicle stick shape.
  • Follow that up by gluing on a line of cotton balls near the bottom, to represent his beard and a line on the top for his hat.
  • Then let it all dry completely, before displaying proudly.
  • If you like, add some ribbon to the back of your craft stick Santa, so you can easily turn it into an ornament for the tree.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
