I’m always trying my best to brainstorm new and “first seen here” ideas for our website, so I really hope you like this latest idea from me! It’s the perfect excuse to get crafty AND host a puppet show, as a family together!

On that note – you are in for a wickedly good time today if you decide to do this particular tutorial with your little one! For this jack-o-lantern themed art project, all you need is wood craft sticks, craft paint, cardstock paper, a pipe cleaner, school glue and a single cupcake liner for a tutu. Super inexpensive materials! We made it extra easy peasy on your wallet!

Get creative with the kiddos this Halloween & make some unique jack-o-lantern ballerinas made from popsicle sticks! It’s a fun craft idea that’ll have your little ones twirling and giggling in no time at all!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Low Temp Glue Gun
  • Orange Craft Paint
  • Small Paint Brush
  • Black Tulip Puffy Paint
  • Cupcake Liner
  • Pipe Cleaner

Directions:

  • First get the glue gun hot and ready!
  • Assemble the base of your orange pumpkin friend by gluing THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {3 next to each other and the mini popsicle sticks across}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each pumpkin ballerina friend you want to make today.
  • When dry enough, go ahead and paint your newly made popsicle stick shape completely orange with the craft paint.
  • Go ahead and also draw on the facial embellishments with the black puffy paint.
  • When done, set it aside to allow the paint to dry.
  • Go ahead and take the cupcake liner & fold it in half for the ballerina tutu. Glue it to the center of your popsicle stick shape.
  • Finally – take your silver pipe cleaner and fold it to make arms for your ghost. Go ahead and glue that to the back of the decorated popsicle stick shape.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
