Paper Plate Black Cat In Pumpkin - Kid Craft

Bringing a little Halloween spook to your crafting plans! Make some magic with this adorable paper plate black cat in pumpkin craft – it’s purrrfect for the season!

Craft Supplies:

  • Cat Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils or Markers
  • Scissors
  • Large Paper Plate
  • Orange Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Stapler
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Eyeball Stickers or Wiggle Eyes
  • optional materials – green ribbon or pipe cleaner for pumpkin stem

Directions:

  • First things first – print the cat template that is listed above in the supply list. Print it out on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You need ONE cat printable per craft.
  • Grab the crayons {or markers, pencils etc.} and color the cat face and paws in the printable. I went with black but you can go with ANY color{s} you like.
  • Once done with the coloring, trim out each section in the printable and set aside. Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab the large paper plate, paint brush and orange craft paint. Have children paint their paper plate completely ORANGE.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry a bit.
  • Now grab your black and brown cardstock.
  • Out of the black cardstock, cut out some jack-o-lantern features.
  • Out of the brown cardstock, trim out a rectangular stem for the pumpkin. Set those aside.
  • Grab your painted paper plate and scissors. Cut out a small section to be the “lid” of the pumpkin. Just a sliver should be cut off and be the “hat” for the cat.
  • Now grab the stapler, glue and all the cardstock pieces.
  • Staple the cat face to the larger paper plate piece, and follow that up by stapling on the pumpkin top “hat” to the cat’s head.
  • Go ahead and either staple or glue the cat paws in place on the paper plate.
  • Add the wiggle eyes so your cat can see.
  • Finish that off by gluing on the black jack-o-lantern pieces to the center of the larger paper plate piece.
  • Finally – take the green ribbon, tie it like a bow and staple it to the pumpkin piece, along with the brown cardstock stem on top.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying proudly!
