With our picket fence tutorial below and the “Five Little Pumpkins” rhyme, you will have the perfect combination of a Halloween craft & story to tell. With just a few steps, young children can recreate their own fence line of five little pumpkins AND have an adorable piece of handprint art for caregivers to admire afterwards {and beyond!}

It’s sure to put a spell on your kids as they get to use their imaginations and be decorators of the most spook-tacular Halloween fence imaginable. As if it couldn’t get any better – the best part is that it only takes around fifteen minutes from start to finish! So grab those supplies and let’s get crafting today!

Who knew 5 little pumpkins could bring so much cuteness to the world? Get crafty and join us in making this adorable popsicle stick pumpkin fence!

Craft Supplies:

  • 6 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • School Glue
  • 5 Pumpkin Stickers
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – trace and cut out your child’s handprint from the light brown cardstock paper.
  • Glue it to the center of the black cardstock paper.
  • Now for the fence! Grab SIX jumbo popsicle sticks and your school glue.
  • Glue the wood sticks in a fence formation UNDER the handprint design.
  • To finish off the Halloween story time craft, simply adhere the pumpkin sticks {one on each fingertip} to pull the theme together,
  • Finally, add embellishments to set the scene.
  • Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
