Popsicle Stick Five Little Pumpkins On A Fence

Popsicle Stick Five Little Pumpkins On A Fence - Kid Craft Idea

5 Little Pumpkins On Popsicle Stick Fence Craft

At Glued To My Crafts, we absolutely LOVE combining story time into craft time around here! It’s like a double win in our books!

And with today’s simple story time “five little pumpkins on a gate” kid craft idea – you will love this concept as well!

Pete the Cat takes on the classic favorite children’s song “Five Little Pumpkins” in New York Times bestselling author James Dean’s Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins. Join Pete as he rocks out to this cool adaptation of the classic Halloween song! {affiliate link for book}

With our picket fence tutorial below and the above mentioned Pete The Cat book, you will have the perfect combination of a Halloween craft & story to tell. With just a few steps, young children can recreate their own fence line of five little pumpkins AND have an adorable handprint cutout of Pete the Cat for caregivers to admire afterwards {and beyond!}

So with that all being said, let’s not delay the fun! Make your own GROOVY Five Little Pumpkins craft by following the steps below and reading the book afterwards, in honor of it all! I just know you are going to love it!

Happy crafting my friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your five little pumpkin gate craft on our Facebook page wall afterwards, so we can admire them from a far this Halloween season! I just know it’s going to turn out super adorable {and groovy!} #gluedtomycrafts

  • School Glue
  • 5 Foam Pumpkin Stickers
  • 5 Mini Clothespins
  • Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper

  • While drying, grab your cardstock and black marker.
  • Trace/trim out your child’s handprint to create a body for cat.
  • With the remaining cardstock, cut out other embellishments to give him life. Set all aside.
  • Now grab your mini clothespins and foam pumpkin stickers.
  • Go ahead and place the stickers on the clothespins to create the “five little pumpkins” that will sit on top of the fence.
  • Use your black marker to give each pumpkin a customized look {psst – if you don’t have stickers, cut out your own from craft foam and attach with glue!}
  • To finish the FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS SITTING ON A GATE craft, have children “pinch” their pumpkins to the fence piece and glue your handprint cat to the front.
  • At this time you can also add other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
