Pumpkins….oh glorious pumpkins!
There is just something about them that makes me smile. From beautiful decorations to a delicious pumpkin pie – they are a MUST when it comes to fall. And now that autumn has officially started, my brain is spinning with tons of ideas for kid crafts. If only I had more time in the day…
If you are like me, paper plates are a must-have supply item when it comes to kid crafts.
Paper plates are readily available and pretty inexpensive. I can usually pick up a HUGE pack at Walmart for less than $5 and it’s lasts us almost the entire year {and this is coming from the mama who does almost everyday a craft with her son}
Not only do I use them for keeping our paints under control {and for easy cleanup} but an ordinary plate can be transformed into just about anything.
Take for example, today’s Paper Plate Pumpkin Kid Craft post. We took an ordinary paper plate and transformed it into a beautiful pumpkin. It’s pretty easy, low on mess and oh so fun! Ready to learn how? See the full tutorial below!!!
Supplies:
* Large Paper Plate
* Orange Tissue Paper
* School Glue
* Scissors
* Green/Brown Cardstock
* Stapler
* Pen
Directions:
* First cut up your tissue paper into squares.
* Put a good layer of glue all over the paper plate.
* Have your child cover the paper plate with the tissue paper, until completely covered. Set aside to let it dry.
* On the green cardstock, trace your child’s handprint out. Trim with scissors.
* Out of the brown cardstock, cut out the stem of the pumpkin.
* Stapler both pieces to the top of the paper plate to finish off the Paper Plate Pumpkin.
You can also easily turn your pumpkin into a “Jack O’ Lantern” for Halloween as well! Just follow the above directions, cut out features from black cardstock and glue to the front! Easy peasy! #gluedtomycrafts
