Felt & Popsicle Stick Jack-O-Lantern Scarecrow Puppet – Fall Kid Craft
A jack-o-lantern is an iconic part of Halloween. Whether you carve one out of a real pumpkin or make one out of tissue paper, you are sure to “make” or see one this holiday season.
So on that note, I’ve come up with a NEW and creative idea for Glued To My Crafts, where I’ve combined the familiar jack-o-lantern design with a scarecrow body for the ultimate fall craft idea! Plus it’s great for puppet play so you can continue the fun beyond the craft table!
Inspired by some small felt pumpkin shapes I recently picked up from my local Target store, I created these custom scarecrow puppet friends within minutes. All I used is jumbo popsicle sticks, some paper and my trusty glue gun!
Now my crafty mama friends – go ahead! Kick up your level of craftiness this autumn season and find the full tutorial below. Then set up shop on your kitchen table and let your child’s imagination go wild as they build their very own jack-o-lantern scarecrow friends within minutes. Not only will this idea bring a smile to ALL of those who recreate it in your home today but you’ll be soaking in the seasonal ambiance as you join in on the fun as well!

Make It Your Own Today – don’t have access to a Target? Can’t find the felt pumpkin shapes in your store? No worries! You can always hand-draw and cut out a pumpkin shape from cardstock paper instead. The felt pumpkins I found and used from Target, measured about 3″x 4″ in size.
You could even bring out your Cricut Maker if you have one and cut out your pumpkin shapes that way.
Please don’t feel limited by the materials I used today {ever!} I just hope to get the creative juices flowing, so you can run with it!
