Directions:
- First things first – decorate your paper plate to look like a pumpkin. Start off by covering it with ORANGE craft paint and then adding a few lines of brown to give the “pumpkin” some dimension.
- When done decorating the paper plate, set it aside to let it dry completely.
- Next up – the paper elements that will bring the pumpkin scarecrow to life. Go ahead and grab ALL your paper pieces, drawing tools & the scissors.
- For an added “pumpkin” element in this craft, go ahead and color in the decorative hat band, in the design, “green” for the stem of the pumpkin.
- Now cut out the scarecrow hat design from the printed printable.
- Discard excess paper.
- Next, out of the white cardstock paper, trace your child’s hand TWICE for the beard. Trim those out and discard excess paper.
- Finally, out of the brown cardstock paper, cut out a large oval nose.
- Now we are heading to the final steps! Once the decorated paper plate is completely dry, go ahead and staple the handprint cutouts to it.
- Follow that up with the nose and hat piece on top.
- Go ahead and add any other embellishments you see fit and display your gnome paper plate scarecrow pumpkin proudly for all to see!
If you like – your child can add other personalized embellishments like stickers, sequins, buttons etc. Really have them make it into their own craft!
