Flying Pumpkin Witch - Kid Craft

Get your little witches ready for Halloween with this fun flying pumpkin craft! It’s a great way to get creative and have some seasonal family time.

Craft Supplies:

  • Pumpkin Shapes
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Glitter Cardstock Paper
  • Jumbo Popsicle Stick
  • School Glue
  • Basic Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First start off your craft by cutting out the embellishments. Grab your scissors and various sheets of cardstock paper.
  • You will want a witch hat, pointy boots and facial jack-o-lantern features out of the black cardstock paper.
  • Out of the brown cardstock, cut out the larger part of your broom. Curl the paper if desired.
  • And with the glitter paper, cut out TWO long legs and a little strip to jazz up the rim of the witch’s hat.
  • Now grab your school glue and all your cutout pieces.
  • Start off by gluing your pumpkin cutout to the popsicle stick. You want it to look like the pumpkin is simply balancing/sitting on the “broom.”
  • Finish off the last few steps by gluing on your other embellishments to the pumpkin and popsicle stick.
  • Add anything else you see fit {maybe some glitter, a couple rhinestones} before displaying proudly!

Remember, you don’t have to use our color scheme or materials either! Printed scrapbook paper would be great for the witch’s legs and if you don’t have popsicle sticks, this step can be accomplished with just paper.

Don’t be scared to think outside the box when it comes to making your witch!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
