Handprint Scarecrow Keepsake Craft

There is NO need to be scared with today’s latest tutorial from Glued To My Crafts! We are diving right back into fall with today’s super easy scarecrow keepsake idea that is made entirely from cardstock paper, making it an easy craft idea that you can pull together with little to no mess!

No messy paint brushes or fancy tools required to build this fun looking guy out of paper! If you have scissors, a glue stick and colored paper on hand, you are well on your way to BUILDING him & welcoming him into your home this autumn season.

Paper Handprint Scarecrow Hair Craft For Kids

Get creative with your little ones this fall season by recreating this unique scarecrow art project idea!

Craft Supplies:

  • Tan Cardstock Paper
  • Dark Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Glue Stick or School Glue
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler
  • Black Marker
  • optional material – our FREE monster eyeball printable

Directions:

  • First have your child trace their hands {both of them} on some dark brown cardstock paper.
  • Trim out both pieces with scissors. You now have the hair for your scarecrow friend.
  • Out of the remaining dark brown paper, cut out a small triangle “nose” for your scarecrow friend.
  • Now trim out a rectangular piece {the scarecrow’s shirt} from the red cardstock paper.
  • Next up – trim out TWO circles from the white cardstock, for his eyes.
  • Draw in some black with a crayon/marker, to make the pupils {or use our free eyeball printable mentioned above!}
  • Ready to be build him! To finish your Paper Handprint Scarecrow Keepsake, simple staple the two handprint “hair pieces” to the top of the light tan cardstock paper, along with gluing the other cardstock embellishments in the remaining spots {see our picture for an example.
  • Now draw on a stitched up smile with your black marker
  • Then display your paper scarecrow face proudly!! Easy peasy – just how we like it on #gluedtomycrafts
