Handprint Gnome Scarecrow Keepsake Craft For Kids
Today’s adorable scarecrow gnome paper keepsake craft tutorial is inspired by my love of all things fall and gnome related.
Due to continued demand, I’ve taken the basic framework of our past handprint gnome keepsakes but this time I added a paper scarecrow hat and some fabric stitching to bring him to life! And as always – it’s super easy for any skill level to recreate and have on the wall as instant fall decor today!
So on that note, please be inspired by my latest gnome paper craft tutorial. You can find the full tutorial and scarecrow hat link below, to get you started super fast this afternoon.
Happy crafting my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your handprint gnome scarecrow creations with us! You can ALWAYS tag us on Facebook or Instagram for easy sharing! I can’t wait to see what you make with your young crafter today! #gluedtomycrafts

Create a lasting memory of this fall season with our gnome scarecrow craft idea!
Craft Supplies:
- SCARECROW HAT PRINTABLE
- Light Brown Cardstock Paper
- Dark Brown Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Orange Cardstock Paper
- Pencil
- Craft Scissors
- Adhesive
- Black Sharpie Marker
- Fall Stickers
Directions:
- First things first, grab the free “scarecrow hat” file {listed above in the supply list} and print it out on the light brown cardstock paper.
- Now trim out the hat piece from the printable and discard the excess paper.
- Next up – grab your white cardstock paper and pencil.
- Trace both of your child’s hands {one at a time, in separate locations} on the paper.
- When done tracing, trim them both out. This will be the beard for your scarecrow gnome.
- Now to work on his body. Grab the orange cardstock paper and the scissors again.
- Fold the cardstock paper, unfold and cut it in half.
- Reverse one half for the gnome body and save the other for another day.
- Finally – cut out a small oval nose shape from the dark brown cardstock paper.
- You now have all your pieces, it’s time to start assembling! Grab your choice of adhesive and all your paper cutouts.
- Start off by gluing the two handprint cutouts {his beard} under the brown hat paper piece.
- Follow that up gluing on his nose to the center and anything you want to decorate the hat piece with.
- Finally – glue on the orange rectangle body piece, to the back of everything.
- To finish off your Paper Scarecrow Keepsake, use the black marker to draw on “stitching” and really tie the theme together.
- Now you can stop here or add any other embellishments you see fit, to give it your own personal spin!
- Then display your handprint fall gnome paper piece proudly for ALL to see!!
- Don’t forget to snap a few pictures of your finished handprint gnome scarecrow on your phone and tag us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
