Paper Handprint Sunflower Craft

Brighten up your day with this sunflower hand print craft idea! All you need is cardstock paper and little hands to make it blossom in your home!

Craft Supplies:

To get started on this sunflower adventure, you’ll need a few basic supplies. Most of these materials are likely already in your home or can be easily found at your local craft store. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • FREE PRINTABLE ON OUR LANDING PAGE
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Craft Scissors
  • Adhesive

Directions:

Before the crafting begins, it’s important to set up a kid-friendly workspace. Choose a large table where your child can spread out their materials.

  • First things first, grab the free “sunflower seeds” printable {listed above in the supply list} and print it out on a single sheet of brown cardstock paper.
  • If desired, you can instead print it on white cardstock paper and color in the middle of the flower piece instead.
  • Anyways – trim out the circle piece and discard excess paper.
  • Now grab your several sheets of yellow cardstock paper and trace your child’s hand SEVERAL times, in separate locations, on the paper. Depending on the size of their little hand, you might need 10-15 handprints.
  • When done tracing, trim them all out.
  • Now it’s time to start assembling! Grab your choice of adhesive and all the hand prints.
  • Start off by laying the large brown circle piece upside down, on your flat surface.
  • To finish off your Paper Sunflower Keepsake, start off by gluing the handprint cutouts {the flower petals} all around the edge of the circle to make the flower shape. You will want the fingertips facing outward to create petals {FYI – you might have to cut out more handprint cutouts once you start putting it all together!}
  • Now you can stop here or add any other embellishments you see fit, to give it your own personal spin!
  • Then display your handprint yellow sunflower paper piece proudly for ALL to see!! This would also be a great gift for someone as well – hint hint!
