Simple Jack-O-Lantern Craft For Kids

Whether you do our paper jack-o-lantern themed craft with one child or a whole classroom full – this handprint pumpkin keepsake idea will only take a few minutes and it won’t break the bank either!

I know parents {and teachers} are constantly looking for fast and cheap ideas to do this time of year, so I tried to make this paper pumpkin themed craft as simple as it gets!! Just grab our freebie file below, print it out on orange cardstock paper and then decorate to make it look like a jack-o-lantern pumpkin! It’s nearly stress-free and of course, mess-free as well!

Handprint Jack-O-Lantern Keepsake

Get creative with your Halloween decorations this year! Make a keepsake that everyone will remember with this adorable handprint Jack-O-Lantern.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jack-O-Lantern Printable
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

Directions:

  • First print the file above on a single sheet of ORANGE CARDSTOCK PAPER. This will give you the look of a jack-o-lantern pumpkin.
  • Next help your child make their handprint “leaf” on the white cardstock paper, with the washable green paint {or trace their hand on some green cardstock instead!}
  • When it’s dry enough, trim out the design.
  • Now trim out a rectangular stem from the brown cardstock.
  • Ready to be amazing?! To finish your Handprint Jack-O-Lantern, simple staple all the cardstock pieces to the orange cardstock paper with the printed design.
  • Then display your pumpkin proudly!!
