This fun and easy craft idea for kids is perfect for animal lovers of all ages! Transform a paper plate and some tissue paper into an adorable raccoon.

Craft Supplies:

The best part about making a tissue paper and paper plate raccoon is that most materials are inexpensive and easy to find. Here’s what you’ll need to gather before starting the project:

  • Large Paper Plate – one per raccoon
  • Gray Tissue Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Various Paper Scallop Punches

Directions:

  • First you will want to trim your paper plate down a bit. You want the face to be more triangular but still round. {I hope the above picture explains it better}
  • Cut your gray tissue paper into small squares.
  • Slather a good amount of glue all over the paper plate.
  • Have your child place the tissue paper on the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered for the raccoon’s fur.
  • While your child does that – punch/cut out the embellishments to give the raccoon life.
  • Now staple/glue those paper pieces to the paper plate.
  • Display your finished paper plate raccoon face craft proudly for all to see!
