There’s no reason to be “witchy” about today’s crafty broom inspired craft post!

Not only is this FREE PRINTABLE Room on the Broom Handprint Craft Idea great to celebrate the upcoming Halloween season with BUT it also goes along perfectly with the adorable book “Room on the Broom” by Julia Donaldson.

The witch and her cat are happily flying through the sky on a broomstick when the wind picks up and blows away the witch’s hat, then her bow, and then her wand!  Luckily, three helpful animals find the missing items, and all they want in return is a ride on the broom.  But is there room on the broom for so many friends?  And when disaster strikes, will they be able to save the witch from a hungry dragon?

Handprint Broom Craft For Halloween

Keep the spirit of Halloween alive with this easy, fun handprint broom craft! Get your kids in the spooky spirit and make some memories with this unique activity.

Craft Supplies:

  • Broom Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First print the free template printable on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Now grab the washable brown craft paint.
  • Squirt some on the paper plate.
  • Using a paint brush, paint your child’s hand completely brown and press it near the broom portion of the printable.
  • Repeat if desired for a fuller broom look.
  • Clean hands with baby wipes and a quick trip to the sink.
  • Now grab your embellishments.
  • Dress up your piece to give the look of a broom flying in the night.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then display/gift proudly {BTW- don’t forget to add your child’s name/age on the page as well!}
