Koala Craft Idea For Kids

It’s a super easy handprint koala keepsake that children can craft up, with minimal help or steps.

This is such a cute and easy craft idea that makes for a great art project idea for kids! Assemble your supplies and then let the kids have at it crafting up their own paper koala on tree branch craft. I’ve even included a FREE printable below to get everyone started even faster!

Kids can make as many or as few koalas as they like and even decorate their popsicle sticks however they choose. We used googly eyes and crayons to bring our koalas to life but you could also use other materials like stickers, glitter, etc. This is truly a super easy craft idea for kids that can be done in no time at all! And when they’re done they’ll have the cutest koala handprint keepsake to display proudly for all to see!

Handprint Koala On Eucalyptus Tree

This is a craft idea that kids of all ages will enjoy. So gather up your supplies and get ready to have some fun with super simple koala craft idea!

Craft Supplies:

  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Koala Printable – on our landing page
  • Crayons/Markers
  • Scissors
  • Tiny Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks

Directions:

  • First things first – trace your hand on the gray cardstock paper.
  • Trim out the traced handprint design.
  • Set aside.
  • Now grab the printed printable.
  • Color in ONE of the koala shapes.
  • Go ahead and glue on the wiggle eyes as well.
  • When done decorating, trim out the head shape with scissors.
  • Finally, out of the remaining green cardstock paper, cut out a few leaf shapes for the eucalyptus tree.
  • Now it’s time to start assembling!
  • Grab your popsicle stick and all your paper cutouts.
  • Start off by gluing the koala head shape to the thumb of the handprint cutout.
  • Follow that up by gluing your handprint cutout to the popsicle stick “eucalyptus tree branch.”
  • Finally – the last step is to glue on the leaves.
  • Then let it dry completely before displaying your popsicle stick tree branch and koala craft piece proudly!
