Handprint Welcome Home Keepsake For Kids To Make

Welcome Home Keepsake

When I first started brainstorming this particular deployment kids craft post, I instantly thought of my fellow military families who might want to do something special to mark the occasion on homecoming day.

Whether you want to use today’s patriotic craft tutorial as a special sign your child holds at the airport or as a small gift they hand to someone special you are welcoming home, I really do hope you love my vision on this one!

If you want to recreate this paper “welcome home” keepsake with your child today {whether you are a military family or not} you can find ALL the details and free file below. I really do hope it comes in handy for you and that you love the end result! And although I’m pushing this as a deployment welcome home craft idea – remember, it’s also great as a simple decor piece you make for your home, for any day of the year. Just print the freebie file, add the handprint and place in a basic 8×10″ frame for instant decor!  Feel free to run with this idea and make it amazing to fit what YOU want/or need!

Anyways – I’ll let you get to it! Happy crafting my dear friends and please don’t forget to snap few pictures of your finished paper pieces so I can see them in action. It seriously makes my day to hear {and see} from my awesome readers! You can find me on Instagram for easy tagging! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
