Acorn Fairy House Craft Idea For Kids

Gather the kiddos and get creative! Create an enchanting and whimsical acorn fairy house with popsicle sticks. It’s a fun way to explore imagination and foster their love of crafting.

Craft Supplies:

  • ACORN HOUSE PRINTABLE
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Brown Tissue Paper
  • Crayons or Markers
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First assemble the base of your acorn house by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {seven next to each other and two across the back.}
  • Set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each acorn fairy house you want to make.
  • Next go ahead and print our free provided printable listed above. You only need to print ONE per craft stick house.
  • Once printed out on thick white cardstock, go ahead and trim out each piece in the printable.
  • Use crayons to color in the door and add some lines to the windows, from the printable.
  • Next grab your brown tissue paper and cut out a handful of small squares that will be used to decorate the “roof” of the acorn.
  • Now you are ready to start assembling everything. Go ahead and glue down the paper acorn pieces on the popsicle stick shape.
  • Follow that up by gluing on the brown tissue paper squares on the acorn piece.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Acorn Fairy House, add any other embellishments you see fit. Add fall themed stickers, buttons, rhinestones etc.}
  • Then set it all aside {again} to allow it to dry completely before displaying proudly!
  • Don’t forget to snap a few pictures to share with us! We love seeing your creations come to life! #gluedtomycrafts

It’s it lovely? And of course, you can make it custom and/or fit any supplies you might have on hand.

If you don’t have brown tissue to use, no worries! You can easily just color in the acorn top roof in our free provided printable, with your choice of craft medium.

Don’t have a printer – that’s ok too! Cut out your own half-circle shape from white paper or use a small paper plate cut in half, instead. Then color in with your choice of craft medium.

And my last tip – make it even more custom by adding your child’s picture in one of the fairy acorn house windows.

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
