Paper Plate Acorn Friend {Kid Craft}

Acorn Paper Plate Craft For Kids

Today’s kid friendly craft is titled Paper Plate Acorn Friend.

It has a fall theme to it and it can also be easily in-cooperated in to your Thanksgiving craft plans, to keep the kids busy while you get the big meal ready.

With just some a little craft paint, a paper plate, brown cardstock and smiling embellishments – we will be able to pull this kid friendly craft together in no time. Heck – you could even join in on the fun and make one yourself!

My favorite part of this paper acorn craft idea, is that adorable smiling face. Isn’t it amazing how when you add some wiggle eyes and a painted on smile, that it gets that personal touch. It just makes my crafty heart melt. Overall, this acorn themed idea is super simple, extra lovable and really inexpensive too. Just the way we like it around here!

Paper Plate Acorn Friend {Kid Craft} Paper Plate Acorn Friend {Kid Craft}

Get crafty with your kiddos this weekend and make these adorable paper plate acorns! Spend some quality time together creating something fun that you can all be proud of.

Craft Supplies:

  • Paper Plates
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Black Marker
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue
  • White Tulip Puffy Paint

Directions:

  • First things first – take your paper plate and squirt some brown craft paint in the center.
  • Use the paint brush to move the paint around, until the plate is completely brown.
  • When done painted, set aside the painted paper plate to allow it to dry completely.
  • Next grab your brown cardstock and paper craft scissors.
  • Cut a half circle {the acorn shell} and stem out of the brown cardstock.
  • Use the black Sharpie marker to draw lines on the half circle piece, to give it some dimension.
  • Now we are ready to assemble!
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Acorn Friend, staple on the half circle and stem to the paper plate.
  • Follow that up by gluing on the wiggle eyes and drawing on a smile with the puffy paint.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Set it aside to allow it dry completely.
  • Then display proudly for everyone to see!
