Gobble Gobble! Today I’m sharing another Thanksgiving themed kid craft idea on Glued To My Crafts and this one is titled Paper Plate Leaf Turkey.
Leaf Covered Paper Plate Turkey Craft Idea For Kids
Whether for toddlers or older elementary children – this paper plate and leaf covered turkey idea is sure to be a HIT on your kitchen table! It’s absolutely perfect to have laid out as you get the big Thanksgiving meal of the day ready!
With just some cardstock paper, a small paper plate, school glue and some cheap plastic leaves – I was able to pull together this craft for my lil man in little to no time. Not to mention it’s super cheap, too!
And since I’m super awesome to my readers {OK I toot my own horn way too much these days} but with the free turkey printable I’ve provided in the tutorial below, it will only take you a few minutes from start to finish, to pull this turkey kids craft idea together in no time!

This paper plate & leaf turkey craft is a fun and easy way to spend quality time with the kiddos and make lasting memories.
Craft Supplies:
- Small Paper Plate
- Turkey Printable – on our landing page
- White Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- Plastic Leaves
- School Glue
- Stapler
Directions:
- First print out our FREE TURKEY BODY PRINTABLE listed above. One print will give you THREE turkeys to craft with.
- Use your scissors to cut out ONE of the turkeys in the printable.
- Set it aside till later.
- Next up – grab your small paper plate, your school glue and a handful of leaves.
- Put a good amount of glue all over the paper plate.
- Lay the leaves on top of the glue, on the plate, until it’s completely covered.
- When you are done adding the leaves that are the turkey’s feathers, grab the paper turkey cutout and staple it to the front of the decorated paper plate.
- Let it dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see. {If the glue doesn’t make it stick, go ahead and staple the pieces together.}
