Acorn Friend Puppet Craft Idea For Fall

Count down the days to fall with our little acorn helper friends, who are always wearing smiles on their faces!

The season is changing and we are celebrating autumn’s spectacular show of color with our eye catching and super easy Fall Acorn Friend Puppets!

I was recently inspired by some decorative large burlap leaves I picked up at my local Dollar Tree. One thing led to another and here are today!

In this post, I’ve included a FREE printable acorn face template to get you started. With it, you are going to be well on your way to pulling this DIY puppet play idea together in no time! Perfect for an afternoon of crafting AND play!

Craft Supplies:

  • Acorn Printable – on our fall landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Colored Printer
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Large Burlap Leaves
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Gold Elmer’s Glitter Glue
  • Embellishments

Directions: 

  • First things first – print the acorn face template {above} on a single sheet of white cardstock. There are FOUR faces, so you can do FOUR puppets.
  • Using scissors, trim out each acorn face from the printable.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Get the glue gun hot and ready.
  • Hot glue ONE decorative burlap leaf to a popsicle stick.
  • Follow that up by hot gluing ONE of the acorn face cutouts on top.
  • Add a decorative bow-tie under the head/on the chest, if desired.
  • For added sparkle – use the gold glitter glue and extra glitter to give the “top” of the acorn some shine.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit and will complete your craft.
  • Once done, set it all aside to let it dry completely before playing with proudly!

Fall Acorn Friend Puppet Craft Idea

These adorable acorn puppets are perfect for fall! They're easy to make and kids will love playing with them.

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • Cardstock Paper
  • Fall Printable - Landing Page

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:
