Peeking Christmas Puppy - Kid Craft Peeking Christmas Puppy - Kid Craft

This is a wonderfully easy and festive Christmas craft idea for kids! All you need is some cardstock paper and a little bit of creativity. Let your child’s imagination run wild as they bring this adorable Peeking Christmas Puppy to life. Merry crafting!

Craft Supplies:

  • Puppy Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Cardstock/Glittery Scrapbook Paper
  • Stapler
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – download and print the puppy dog template listed above in the supply list.
  • Print the file on a single sheet of white cardstock. You need ONE puppy printable per paper craft.
  • Next grab your choice in color of crayons {or markers, pencils etc.} and color the dog face and paws in the printable. I went with a shade of brown for mine but you can do whatever color you like!
  • Once done with the coloring, trim out each section in the printable and set them aside. You will have ONE head and TWO paws.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab your choice in color of cardstock paper and/or scrapbook paper.
  • We are going to start off my cutting out a basic 6″ x 6″ inch square shape for the bottom portion of the gift box.
  • Go ahead and also cut out a smaller 6″ x 2″ inch piece for the gift box lid and what will ultimately go on the puppy’s head.
  • Now that you have your box pieces cutout, it’s time to decorate each one, to make them look like a true gift box. I added a rectangle “ribbon” to the center of the my two pieces but you can of course change that up. Don’t forget to make a pretty bow for on top of everything!
  • Once you have ALL your paper pieces done, it’s time to start assembling!
  • Grab all your paper pieces {including the puppy dog cutouts} along with your stapler and/or glue.
  • Staple the colored in puppy dog face piece, to the back of the larger square paper piece, so it looks like she/he is peeking out from behind it.
  • Follow that up by either stapling or gluing the puppy paws in place, on the front of the “gift box.”
  • Finally – add the longer rectangle piece {the gift box top} on top of the puppy’s head.
  • To finish off your paper Christmas puppy peeking craft, add any other embellishments you see fit before displaying it proudly for all to see!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
