Directions:

  • First things first – cut off a small section of your large paper plate to make the bottom of the fairy house flat. Discard the small piece you just cut off.
  • Next up – paint the paper plate any other color you like! I did a shade of pink on mine. When done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now download and print the FREE valentine fairy house template above. Print out the file in color on white cardstock. You only need to print one per craft.
  • Using scissors, trim out each section in the printable you just printed. You will have a few windows, a door, flowers and small donuts.
  • Bonus tip – use markers or color pencils to color in the blank flowers in the printable, to make them custom to you!
  • Next up, use the small donut pieces in the printables and small craft rhinestones, to make the center of your flowers.
  • Now decide which windows you are going to use for your craft {you only need two windows.} There are several different versions of fairies in windows. Any combination of them is great for the craft!
  • Set aside all your chosen/decorated cardstock pieces.
  • Grab some cardstock and scissors. Cut out a long rectangular “chimney” for the fairy house. If desired – decorate it. Set aside.
  • Once the paper plate is dry and you have everything cut out that you want to use for your piece, now it’s time to start assembling your Valentine fairy house.
  • Go ahead and glue/staple all your paper embellishments in place on the paper plate.
  • Now add anything else you like for that custom look {like some love themed stickers or glitter!} before displaying your paper plate Valentine’s Day fairy house proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
