This puffy paint pie craft is super easy and creative way for the kids to explore their artistic side while having a great time!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Brown Paint Crayon
  • Tulip Puffy Paint {red for apple or orange for pumpkin}
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • White Cotton Balls

Directions:

  • First things first – use a BROWN paint crayon to color in the “pie crust” in the craft. Simply have children paint the outer rim of their large paper plate with the crayon.
  • Next up – help children fold their paper plate in half {with the pie crust inside.} Straight up the center to make it a half circle.
  • Now unfold and squirt some puffy paint on one side of the paper plate. This is going to become the “pie filling.“
  • Be sure to keep the paint inside the paper plate and not place too much down. A good squiggle or two of paint is perfect.
  • Once the paint is down, go ahead and re-fold/squish your paper plate together again.
  • Be sure to rub your hand all over the folded piece, so the paint will cover your the inside nicely.
  • When ready, carefully unfold the paper plate to reveal a pie filling design inside.
  • Next up – grab your light brown cardstock paper and the scissors.
  • Cut out several thin strips for the remaining pie crust.
  • Go ahead and glue those onto the painted paper plate.
  • To finish the paint splat pie tutorial, glue on a few cotton balls in the center for the “whipped cream” on the pie.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly.
