Stuffed Paper Bag Acorn Craft Idea For Fall

In this blog post, we’ll walk you through a fun and easy paper bag acorn craft idea that’s perfect for kids to create this season. Not only will this activity ignite their imagination, but it will also help develop fine motor skills and artistic expression.

Craft Supplies:

The beauty of the paper bag acorn craft lies in its simplicity and accessibility. You won’t need any fancy supplies or expensive tools to get started. Here’s a list of materials you’ll need to make your own paper bag acorns:

  • Acorn Cap Printable – on our landing page
  • Large, Brown Paper Bag
  • Shredded Paper
  • Stapler
  • School Glue
  • Medium Sized Wiggle Eyes
  • Craft Scissors
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons/Coloring Pencils
  • Optional – Decorative Leaf Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – if you haven’t already, go ahead and print out the “acorn cap” printable that is listed above. You can print it on white paper {like I did} or do colored paper instead. If doing it on white, have children color in the acorn piece with crayons or coloring pencils.
  • Once you have the printable printed, trim out the hat design. Save the second design from the paper to recreate the craft again.
  • Next up – open up and stuff your paper lunch bag with a handful of shredded paper, until it stands up nicely and looks really full.
  • Set it aside till later.
  • Now, out the remaining light brown cardstock paper, trace & trim out TWO handprint cutouts.
  • We are ready to assemble! Take the top of the acorn cutout and staple it to the stuffed paper bag to close it up.
  • Finally, go ahead and glue the two handprint cutouts on the bag, along with a decorative leaf in the center to give the appearance that he is holding it.
  • To finish off the lunch sack acorn craft – draw/glue on the facial features to the front of the stuffed paper bag to give it life.
  • Then display your finished acorn paper bag piece proudly for ALL to see!
