Paper Plate Sleeping Teddy Bear Craft

Teddy bear dreams come true with this adorable DIY craft! We are using colored paper plates to build a bed for your our adorable friends! Keep scrolling for all the details, as well as the free provided printable. Happy crafting, my friends!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plates {2 different colors}
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Teddy Bear Printable – on our landing page
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Embellishments
  • Stapler
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First things first – download and print out the teddy bear printable on brown cardstock paper.
  • Use scissors to trim out one of the bear shapes. Save the second design for repeating the sleepy bear in bed craft.
  • Go ahead and use a marker to draw on some “sleeping” eyes on your cutout.
  • Next grab your two different colored paper plates. Set one aside for now.
  • Go ahead and cut the second paper plate in half, straight up the center to create two equal pieces.
  • Take that paper plate piece and use your marker to draw a crisscross/quilted pattern on the paper plate half.
  • Now grab all your paper pieces and the teddy bear cutout. Start off by gluing the teddy bear cutout to the center of the uncut, larger paper plate.
  • Follow that up by either gluing {or stapling} the second half paper plate {his blanket} on top. You will want his arms to slightly stick out as well.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit to complete the sleeping bear craft.
  • When done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
