Paper Sleeping Owl - Kid Craft

Don’t sleep on this idea! He’s adorable AND super easy to recreate! Grab the free printable and recreate it today!

Craft Supplies:

  • OWL Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils, Markers etc.
  • Scissors
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Glue Stick or Tape Runner rections:
  • First things first – go ahead and print the free blank owl body printable listed above. Print it out in color, on a single sheet of white cardstock. You only need ONE print per craft. Feel free to print as many as you like though!
  • Now grab your choice of coloring instrument and color in the owl in the printable, however you like! From bright colors to neutrals, your owl is the star of the show so go for it!
  • Next, using your scissors, carefully trim out the owl design you just decorated, in the printable. Discard excess paper and set aside your cutout piece.
  • Now grab your various pieces of colored paper and of course, your scissors.
  • The first thing I did was make the paper bed first. This required two different shades of brown paper. For this I just cut out two long strips of a dark brown cardstock {for the head & the foot of the bed} and then I attached them to another single sheet of lighter brown cardstock {on the top and bottom} to give the look of a bed. Please see picture above for example.
  • Set aside this piece.
  • Next I cut out a simple pillow shape and a rectangle blanket to cover the owl.
  • Finally – it’s time to assemble everything! Go ahead and glue on the pillow to the bed, then the owl and then his blanket on top.
  • That’s it! If desired, add some other embellishments you see fit.
  • Display your masterpiece proudly for ALL to see!
