Let’s get extra crafty and make an adorable Paint Splat Teddy Bear today! Perfect to recreate any day of the year! No theme required!!! Think of this as an evergreen craft that you can bookmark today and refer back to, anytime the crafty mood strikes in your home!
It’s “paint splat” crafty fun with #gluedtomycrafts today!!!
To recreate this Paint Splat Teddy Bear Friend, all I did was take some basic white cardstock and Brown Puffy Paint {affiliate link} to make the “head/fur” of the teddy bear. Just fold your white cardstock in half, open back up and squirt your brown craft paint ON ONE SIDE before closing it up again.
Once the paper is closed for the second time, gently take your hand and “caress” the brown paint around inside, so it makes a fun symmetrical print design on both sides of the paper {keep in mind – paint might ooze from the sides of the cardstock, so be sure to work in an area that can get dirty!}
Now you are ready to open it back up and see the BEGINNING of what your bear’s head will eventually be. From there you decorate it to bring it to life and give it that super sweet teddy bear look.
So next up, grab some tan cardstock and your scissors. Cut out TWO half moon circle ears and a large circle for his nose, for the teddy bear. Draw on a nose with a black Sharpie marker. Then finally decorate your paint splat piece by gluing down the cardstock pieces and wiggle eyes.
Then – if desired – you can also take random scrapbook paper pieces, glitter, glitter glue, rhinestones etc. – whatever you want to bring it to life in a custom form. Maybe your teddy bear wants a bow or a bowtie? Or maybe you just want to add some sparkle? Go for it!
Once finished with your custom paper and paint bear masterpiece, then set aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly! And of course – repeat as many times as you like! No two pieces will be the same and I think that’s what makes it even more fun!
If this is something you want to do with your child today, DO IT! And if you like it, be sure to also head on over to my blog post titled “Paint Splat Snails – Kid Craft and follow the full tutorial from there as well. It’s just like this post but we added some paper plates to the mix!
So what are you waiting for?! Let the crafty fun begin! Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycraftsinspiresyou
