Paper Plate Dr Seuss Cat In The Hat – Kid Craft Idea
Hi my crafty readers! Today I’m so excited to be sharing another kid friendly craft tutorial that goes along perfectly with one of my favorite childhood books, Cat In A Hat. This time the crafty idea is nearly exactly titled after the book – Paper Plate Cat In The Hat!
I personally think the Cat In The Hat children’s book is one of the most recognizable Dr Seuss books around. Just looking at the book cover brings back some good memories. So I just HAD to do a kid craft in honor of that mischievous cat in the striped hat!
Not only is this a great book to read with children, but the paper plate cat craft I’m sharing today is tons of fun so it really pulls everything together. And as usual – it’s simple, inexpensive and fun for all ages. You can’t go wrong with a large paper plate and tissue paper craft!
So what are you waiting for? Let your child’s imagination go wild and craft this up with your favorite little crafter today. Then grab the book to read in celebration of what you have done and really make a fun afternoon out of it!
Happy crafting and reading the beloved Dr Seuss book, my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your finished paper plate and tissue paper Cat in the Hat creations with us on our Facebook page to see! #gluedtomycrafts

Cat in the Hat Craft Supplies:
* Large Paper Plate – one per Cat in the Hat craft
* Black Tissue Paper
* White Cardstock
* School Glue
* Craft Scissors
* Hand-Held Office Stapler
* Black/Red Markers
Directions:
* First cut your black tissue paper into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
* Take your paper plate and put a good amount of glue around the rim.
* Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate rim is completely covered and looks like fur on the cat.
* While they are working on that, cut out the cat’s hat and draw on some red stripes.
* To finish off the Cat in the Hat kid craft – staple the hat to the paper plate and draw on his face with a black marker.
* Then display your paper plate piece proudly for all to see!
