Did you know September is National Honey Month? YUP! Who would have thought, am I right?

Since I’m always looking for a way to celebrate with my son – what better way to celebrate the sticky goodness, than with a good paper plate kids craft honoring the hard working bee?! I say we throw the confetti in the air and go ALL out with a crafty idea in honor!

So with that being said, today’s Paper Plate Honey Bee kid craft is centered around the yellow and black striped insert and is super easy to together on the fly {it’s so easy – I swear!}

Using just a simple paper plate, some school glue and yellow tissue paper, you too can keep your child “busy like a bee” with this kid friendly craft! And no worries – this bee won’t sting or bother you while you eat 😉 Plus you can pair the finished piece with some bee themed story time or even honey flavored items to enjoy!

Paper Plate Honey Bee {Kid Craft}

Learn how to make this adorable paper plate bee craft with your kids! This is a great craft for springtime celebrating!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Yellow Tissue Paper
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Stapler

Directions: 

  • First cut your yellow tissue paper into squares.
  • Out of your black construction paper – cut out strips, the bee’s head and stinger. Set aside.
  • Put a good layer of glue all over the paper plate.
  • Have your child place the yellow tissue paper squares on the plate, until completely covered.
  • To finish off your Paper Plate Honey Bee craft, staple/glue on the cardstock paper pieces to the paper plate to give it  life!
