Before starting, gather the following materials. Don’t worry if you’re missing something; feel free to get creative with substitutions!

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • Yellow Tissue Paper
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Stapler

With these basic items, your buzzing masterpiece is just a few steps away.

Directions: 

Now, let’s buzz straight into the steps for making your very own paper plate bee!

  1. First cut your yellow tissue paper into squares.
  2. Out of your black construction paper – cut out strips, the bee’s head and stinger. Set aside.
  3. Put a good layer of glue all over the paper plate.
  4. Have your child place the yellow tissue paper squares on the plate, until completely covered.
  5. To finish off your Paper Plate Honey Bee craft, staple/glue on the cardstock paper pieces to the paper plate to give it  life!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • 1 Large Paper Plate
  • Tissue Paper
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Stapler
