Make a paper plate fire truck with scissors, tissue paper, school glue, crayons, white and black cardstock paper - follow this easy tutorial!
Get ready to sound the sirens! If you have a little one who loves fire trucks, this easy paper plate craft is going to make their day. Crafting together is a fantastic way to bond, and this activity uses simple supplies you probably already have at home. Let’s build a bright red fire engine that is perfect for playtime.
Once the glue sets, your kids will have an awesome new fire truck to zoom around the house. Have a wonderful time crafting, and enjoy listening to all the happy siren noises they will make while playing with their new creation.
Craft Supplies:
Gather these supplies before you start your craft:
- Large Paper Plate
- Scissors
- Red Tissue Paper
- School Glue
- Ladder Printable – on our landing page
- Crayons
- White Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Yellow Cardstock Paper
- Stapler
Directions:
- First cut your paper plate in half. Straight up the center to make TWO equal pieces. This will give you TWO chances to make a firetruck.
- Now take your tissue paper and cut it into small squares.
- Take one paper plate half and put a good amount of glue all over it. Place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until it’s completely covered.
- When you are done with that, set aside to let them dry completely.
- Next up – color/trim out one of the ladder shapes from the provided printable. At this point in time you should also cut out the wheels, a window etc. from the remaining cardstock paper sheets.
- To finish off the Paper Plate Red Fire Truck craft – simply staple/glue the cardstock pieces in their designated spots on the tissue paper covered plate.
- Add other embellishments to really make it your own! Then display proudly!
Encourage your kids to make this fire truck totally unique. They can add a tiny paper water hose to the back, draw a firehouse dog in the window, or use pieces of shiny aluminum foil to make chrome bumpers. Let their imaginations take the wheel!
