Paper Plate Christmas Car

This paper plate car with a footprint tree on top is the perfect craft for kids! It’s so easy to make and super cheap too, just what you need when crafting with children.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brushes
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First cut your paper plate in half. Straight up the center into two equal pieces.
  • Reserve one half for today’s craft and save the other for a rainy day!
  • At this point in time, go ahead and cut out a small section on the paper plate {see my picture for example} to give that more distinct car look.
  • Now have children paint their paper plate half completely red. Set aside.
  • When they are done with that, go ahead and paint your child’s foot, to press on white cardstock.
  • Trim out the painted footprint on the paper, with scissors.
  • Add embellishments to really give it that Christmas-y look.
  • Set aside.
  • Now grab your remaining cardstock and trim out wheels & a simple rectangular window for your car.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Christmas Car kid craft – simply staple the finished cardstock pieces in their designated spots on the paper plate.
  • Have children add other embellishments to really make it their own!
  • Then display proudly!
  • Snap a few pictures to share with us and share them on our Facebook page! #gluedtomycrafts

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
