Paper Plate Santa - The Easiest Christmas Kid Craft Idea EVER!

This paper plate Santa kids craft is perfect! It’s simple enough that preschoolers can do it, but still provides a bit of challenge and results in a really cute finished product. Don’t wait – give it a try today!

Like always – the supplies for this paper plate and cardstock Santa craft is really inexpensive and pretty easy to find. I bet you have most to all of them already in your house, so all you need to do is pull them out. {no excuses!}

To change things up from our normal routine of crafting, my son got to use his own personal pair of scissors in this craft {which you can imagine for a preschooler is pretty exciting!}

He had full control and he absolutely LOVED it! I, of course, loved the end result of his finished Santa craft and it’s hanging proudly on our art display in the living room.

Paper Plate Santa - The Easiest Christmas Kid Craft Idea EVER!

This simple paper Christmas craft is perfect for kids! It’s so much fun and really cute, too!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • Marker or Pencil
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • Skin Tone Crayon or Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • White School Glue
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Red Pom Pom
  • White Cotton Balls

Directions:

  • First draw a large triangle on your red cardstock paper. This is Santa’s body. Have children cut it out.
  • Next cut your paper plate in half. Straight up the center to make two equal halves.
  • Keep one half and save the other for another day.
  • In the inside section of the paper plate half, paint Santa’s skin tone in.
  • Once done, glue on the wiggle eyes and a red nose on the paper plate half.
  • Now glue that decorated paper plate half to the center of the red triangle piece from earlier.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Santa craft, glue a cotton ball towards the top of the red triangle to make Santa’s hat.
  • Then let it all dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see!
