This Paper Plate Snowman House is a fun craft for kids! Make it with your family, and invite Santa to come visit.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker
  • School Glue
  • Stapler
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – cut off a small section of your large paper plate to make the bottom of the snowman house flat.
  • Discard the small piece you just cut off.
  • Set aside the paper plate.
  • Next up -grab all your paper pieces and craft scissors.
  • Start off by cutting out a LARGE snowman hat for the roof of the house, out of the black cardstock.
  • Out of the remaining black cardstock, cut out a door.
  • Follow that up by cutting out three circular windows out of the gray.
  • Use the black Sharpie marker to draw lines and give the windows some dimension.
  • Out of the scrapbook paper, cut out a long “scarf” that will go in the center of the snowman hat roof.
  • Finally, out of the orange cardstock, cut out a very small circle for the doorknob, that will represent his carrot nose.
  • Once you have all your paper pieces, it’s time to assemble it all together! Grab the paper plate, paper pieces and your glue & stapler.
  • Go ahead and glue/staple the paper embellishments in place on the paper plate. I found that it was easier to staple the hat in place and use glue for all the other pieces.
  • Now add anything else you like for that custom look {like some holiday stickers or glitter!} before displaying proudly!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us of your custom paper plate snowman home on your various social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
