Paper Plate Winter Wonderland Scene

Paper Plate Winter Wonderland Scene

All you will need is a paper plate, some glue and a few other craft supplies to make your own winter wonderland scene.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Blue Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Loose Craft Glitter
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Orange Sharpie Marker
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler
  • Large Christmas Tree Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – cut off a small sliver of the paper plate, so the “scene” will be more flat for your decorations. The goal is for the plate to look like a snow globe in the end.
  • Next up – paint your paper plate piece completely BLUE with the craft paint & a foam brush. Just squirt a little in the center and go to town!
  • While the craft paint is still wet, go ahead and sprinkle some loose craft glitter on top for added sparkle in your winter wonderland.
  • When you are done painting, set aside the painted plate to allow it to dry a bit.
  • Next up – the handprint snowmen made from paper. Grab your white cardstock, a marker and paper craft scissors.
  • Pick a hand and place it in the center of the white cardstock paper.
  • Use one of the markers to trace around the hand, on the paper.
  • Lift up your hand and trim out the handprint design you just made, with the scissors.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now take the orange and black Sharpie markers and draw on “snowman faces” on each finger of the paper cutout.
  • Go ahead and also cut out small hats from the black cardstock paper, that you will adhere to each fingertip.
  • Set aside the decorated snowman handprint shape till later.
  • Next up – the brown colored cardstock paper. Out of it, cut out a small rectangle that will be the dirt that holds the line of Christmas trees.
  • Go ahead and add those stickers on the brown paper piece, you just made.
  • Now we are ready to assemble your craft! Grab your painted paper plate, all the paper pieces, school glue and stapler.
  • Start off my gluing down the handprint snowmen cutout in the center of the painted plate.
  • Finally – to finish off the Winter Wonderland w/Snowmen – Holiday Kid Craft, staple the “line of dirt and trees” on the bottom of the decorated paper plate. This will tie everything together and make your “scene.”
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit {like more Christmas stickers and paper cutouts} before you display it proudly for ALL to see!
  • Don’t forget to share some pictures with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
