Handprint Snow Globe Keepsake

Handprint Snow Globe Keepsake

A quick and easy craft idea for kids to make this winter. They will love seeing their handprints in a snowy globe!

Craft Supplies:

  • Snow Printable – on our landing page
  • Light Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Green Craft Paint
  • Washable White Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Star Stickers
  • Brown Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First grab the snow globe keepsake printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Now print out the provided snow globe file on a single piece of light blue cardstock paper.
  • Next up – grab your green paint, as well as your foam paint brush and paper plate.
  • Squirt a small amount of green craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Pick one of your child’s hands {left or right – doesn’t matter!}
  • Paint the palm and fingers of your child’s hand completely green & press it down in the center of the snow globe design. The handprint is going to be the Christmas tree inside of it.
  • Now carefully lift up your child’s hand from the printable and clean off the excess paint with a baby wipe & a quick trip to the sink.
  • Next up – the snow! Squirt some white craft paint on the same paper plate from earlier {away from the green though!}
  • Have children dip their finger in the white paint, then on the paper to create small snowflakes falling inside their globe design.
  • Again, once they are done with the painting step, send them to the sink for a quick clean up.
  • Now to finish the craft – add the star sticker and draw on the tree trunk under the handprint.
  • Then add other embellishments {maybe even some coloring!} to give their snow globe themed Christmas piece a personalized look.
  • Don’t forget to write your child’s name, age and date on the back!
  • Then display/gift away proudly your child’s beautiful handprint snow globe keepsake piece!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
