Two square pieces of fabric with colorful polka dots, pinking shears with green handles, and part of another fabric piece are arranged on a dark wooden surface—perfect for crafting DIY Fleece Hand Warmers. “GluedToMyCraftsBlog.com” is written at the bottom. A hand holds open the end of a purple and pink sock filled with uncooked rice, next to a white bowl of rice on a wooden surface—perfect for making DIY Fleece Hand Warmers. The text GluedToMyCraftsBlog.com appears at the bottom. Two square DIY Fleece Hand Warmers with pink, purple, brown, and gray polka dots on a white background are placed on a dark wooden surface. The edges of the sachets are neatly finished with pinking shears.

Directions:

  • If desired, first make a template for the hand warmers on cardstock paper. {think circle, heart etc} I decided to free-style mine and make my hand warmers a 4 inches wide/tall square. You can make these any size or shape you like, but remember these will need to fit into coat pockets.
  • Using your pinking shears, carefully cut out your shapes from the fleece. Two fleece pieces for each hand warmer.
  • Then using a needle & thread, stitch the two pieces of fleece together, but make sure to leave an opening so you can pour in your rice.
  • Using the open slot, fill your hand warmer with about 3/4 of uncooked rice.
  • Then to finish it off, stitch it completely closed. Then download, print and add the “Warm Winter Wishes” gift tag to your new creations.

A small, colorful fabric gift tied with twine features a red, scalloped tag that reads WARM WINTER WISHES in white letters. Perfect as DIY Fleece Hand Warmers, the package rests on a dark wooden surface.

When adding the “Warm Winter Wishes” gift tag printable to your handmade fleece hand warmers – you can also write a personalized message on the back and let the receiver know that all they need to do, is warm it up for 1 minute in the microwave and then tuck into their pockets to enjoy. These hand warmers are also great to keep in the freezer for when a “boo boo” comes along {speaking from experience right there!}

Happy “warm” crafting {and gifting} my friends! Don’t forget to share those pictures with us! You can ALWAYS tag us on Facebook or Instagram for easy sharing! #gluedtomycrafts
