Toddler Made – Paper Mitten Craft Tutorial
BRRRR It’s cold outside! Seriously – it’s absolutely FREEZIN’ in Cheyenne, Wyoming right now.
How is the weather where you are?
Is it warm? Is the sun even shining? Because if it is – I’m totally jealous!
We’ve been pretty much stuck in the house for the past month because of the extreme cold and snow. There are some days I feel like our home is an ice box and I’m bundled on the couch, not wanting to move. Although it’s been fun {we do a lot of games and crafts to stay busy} I’m sooo ready for summer to arrive here… I’m sure that will be awhile though! Welcome to Wyoming!!!
Since cold weather and staying indoors has been pretty much run our entire life the last month, it’s also what inspired the kid craft I’m sharing today with you all.
Although my toddler pretty much “refuses” to wear mittens when we go outside in the cold, he sure did love doing this Toddler Paper Mitten craft with me.

Paper Mitten Craft Supplies:
- Colored Carstock/Construction Paper – two sheets per craft
- Cute Kid w/Hands
- Pencil/Marker
- Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
- White Cotton Balls
- School Glue/Glue Stick
- Snowflake Stickers, Buttons, Paper Scraps etc.
Directions:
- First, you will want to make your mitten cutout out of cardstock. This is done by tracing around your child’s hand and cutting the drawn design out.
- Next – glue the hand cutout to another piece of cardstock.
- Add some glue to the bottom of the mitten cutout and have your child stick cotton balls there to give the mittens some dimension.
- To finish, decorate the paper mitten however you like! Add some stickers, get the markers out – whatever your child’s crafty heart desires!
- Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
- Then display proudly for all to see! Don’t forget to share some pictures with us while you are at it! #gluedtomycrafts
