This festive project is simple and fun for the whole family. You only need a few basic supplies to turn your child’s handprints into an adorable Santa and his elves. It is the perfect way to spend a cozy afternoon creating memories together, and it looks wonderful displayed on your fridge or mantel.

Get ready to spread some holiday cheer with this delightful Handprint Santa Gnome Keepsake! This craft is a fun and easy way to create a festive decoration that captures your child’s tiny handprints, turning them into adorable Santa and elf gnomes.

Craft Supplies:

  • Ho, Ho, Ho Printable – on our landing page
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Green Scrapbook Paper
  • Red Scrapbook Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive

Directions:

  • First things first, if you haven’t already, download and print our free “ho, ho, ho” file {listed above in the supply list} on a single sheet of gray cardstock.
  • Next up – trace your child’s hand THREE times on your white cardstock paper.
  • When done tracing, trim out each piece with your paper scissors. Each one will be a beard for your gnomes.
  • Set those aside.
  • Now grab your patterned scrapbook paper.
  • Cut out THREE large triangle hats. Two green ones for Santa’s elves and a red hat for Santa.
  • Finally – cut out a small oval nose shape, for EACH gnome, from the kraft colored cardstock.
  • Now you are ready to assemble it all together.
  • Start off my gluing down the THREE white handprint cutouts, in a row, on the gray colored cardstock paper. You want the fingertips facing downward but make sure you DON’T cover up the printed words.
  • Follow up that step by gluing down the hats {Santa in the middle} on the palms of the handprint cutouts.
  • Then glue down the oval noses to complete each gnome.
  • To finish off your Paper Christmas Santa & His Elves Keepsake, write your name in the provided space and add any other embellishments you see fit, to give it that holiday spin!
  • Then display your Christmas gnome masterpiece proudly for ALL to see!!

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:

  • First print out our provided printable, in color, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need one print per craft.
