It’s the perfect project for busy parents, teachers, and creatives who want to make something special but don’t have much time or budget – all you need is some tissue paper, cardstock paper and paper plates!

If you’re looking for an activity to bring joy and excitement more quickly than shaking your presents under the tree, this crafting idea will surely conjure up feelings of holiday cheer! Make it even more memorable by adding your child’s handprint beard so that their personality shines through.

The holidays are upon us, and there is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than making festive crafts! As a mom, teacher, or creative person of any kind nothing can spark joy quite like seeing your little ones’ faces when they create something special with their hands.

Let’s start crafting some fun memories that will last well beyond the December festivities!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • Skin-Tone Craft Paint
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Tan Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Pencil
  • Stapler
  • Extra Large Wiggle Eye – 2 per craft
  • White Cotton Balls

Directions:

  • First things first – squirt some craft paint in the center of the paper plate.
  • Use the paint brush to paint the entire paper plate.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • While that is drying, work on the other Santa embellishments.
  • Simply trace and cut out TWO handprint cutouts for his white beard.
  • Out of the remaining pieces of cardstock paper {red and tan} cut out a large triangle hat and oval nose.
  • To finish the Paper Plate Santa craft – simple glue on the eyes & nose, while stapling on the beard & hat. Don’t forget to also add the white cotton balls to pull the theme together!
  • Then display proudly!
