Paper Bag Santa Puppet w/Handprint Beard - Kid Craft

Looking for a fun Christmas craft idea for kids? This paper bag Santa puppet is perfect! Kids will love recreating this festive handprint bearded puppet!

Craft Supplies:

  • White Paper Bag
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Skin Tone Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Stapler
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Large Red/Pink Pom Pom
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – the painting! Lay your paper bag on a flat surface, with the folded part facing up.
  • Have children paint the smaller square part the skin tone, while the bigger rectangular part {Santa’s body} completely red.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Next is the cardstock paper. Trace/cut out TWO HANDPRINTS from the white cardstock and a Santa hat from the red.
  • Use your leftover white cardstock to cut out trimmings for his hat.
  • Now you are ready to start assembling your puppet. Staple/glue your cardstock pieces in place on the paper bag.
  • Finish off with the wiggle eyes, pom pom nose and if desired – add some buttons along his body as well.
  • Then add other embellishments to your Paper Bag Santa that you see fit, before playing/displaying proudly!!!
