Homemade Hot Chocolate Play Dough Recipe Tutorial For Christmas

This simple and easy-to-make recipe will get anyone into the holiday spirit by combining a few pantry ingredients – creating a deliciously scented hot chocolate play dough.

With its inviting aroma and creamy consistency, this homemade play dough is perfect as a gift or as part of your sensory activities at home or school.

 

Homemade Hot Chocolate Play Dough Recipe Tutorial For Christmas

Make delightful Chocolate Play Dough with simple ingredients. Fun and easy recipe perfect for kids and creative play!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups tap water
  • 1 1/2 cup white flour
  • 1 cup table salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Directions:

  • Throw all your ingredients in a medium sized saucepan.
  • Stir the ingredients with a cooking spoon, over medium heat. until the play dough starts to foam into a large ball.
  • When everything is well combined and the dough is starting to take stiff, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool a bit.
  • After the dough is cool enough to touch, knead the play dough with your hands until the mixture is nice and smooth. If too sticky, add just a little more flour and knead it it in.
  • When you have the consistency you want, grab some cookie cutters, a rolling pin and let your child have at it with their homemade hot chocolate scented play dough!

When done playing, store in air tight container when not using and of course – although this chocolate play dough recipe smells amazing, it’s just for pretend. {sides that – it tastes gross when ingested}

Please always supervise children while they play with the dough. This is recipe is NOT intended for children who still put things in their mouth.
