No Cook Peppermint Playdough Recipe For The Holidays
Did you happen to catch our Chocolate Play Dough recipe the other day on Glued To My Crafts? It was such a big hit in our house, I decided to create another festive variation to add to our collection.
And since Lil Man LOVES playing with these types of things, I knew this No Cook Peppermint Playdough would be well loved as well {and it was – for several days, in fact!}
This easy homemade playdough recipe has a great smell, nice texture AND if you have a stuffy nose – the peppermint extract in it, is sure to open those sinuses up. Trust me – I speak from experience on that statement!
And unlike our previous chocolate play dough recipe – the recipe I’m sharing today is a “no cook” variation. This was extra great because I was able to have Lil Man create it right beside me, on our kitchen table.
And of course – just like the other recipe, the supplies are really inexpensive to purchase and are probably already has most of them in your pantry already {if not – they are readily available at most grocery stores}
So what you are waiting for? This peppermint scented play dough recipe is super EASY, so you have no excuse not to pull it together today! Now go grab your supplies, some fun shaped cookie cutters and get to work! This is a must-do for the holiday season – for kids & adults!!! {cause I had just as much fun playing with it, as my son did!}
Happy crafting, my friends!! If you don’t mind, when you are done recreating today’s recipe, I would LOVE to see pictures of your child playing with their peppermint playdough on our Facebook page! #gluedtomycrafts

No Cook Peppermint Playdough
Supplies:
* 2 cups flour
* 1 1/2 cups boiling water
* 1/2 cup salt
* 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* Glitter {I used about 2 tablespoons – add more/less as you feel like}
* Few drops of peppermint extract
* Red food coloring
Directions:
* In a large mixing bowl – combine your flour, salt, cream of tartar, glitter and oil.
* Measure out your hot water and add a few drops of peppermint extract & red food coloring to it.
* Then carefully stir in the hot water mixture to the flour mixture. {Should ONLY be done by adults}
* Now start stirring with a cooking spoon until the dough starts getting sticky/cools down a bit.
* Once cool enough to handle – knead until it’s a smooth playdough consistency.
* Then play with it and have tons of fun!
Store playdough in air tight container when not using and of course – although this recipe smells amazing, it’s just for pretend. {sides that – it tastes gross when ingested} Please always supervise children while they play. If your dough is too sticky, add some more flour and knead through, until you get consistency you like.
