Paper Plate Peppermint Candy
Looking for a fun (and easy) Christmas craft project to do with the kids? Look no further than this paper plate peppermint candy idea!
Supplies Needed:
- Paper Plates – large or small {one per peppermint candy craft}
- Small Paper Plate {to hold the paint}
- Craft Paint {red or green}
- Foam Paint Brushes
- Colored Cardstock Paper {red or green}
- Pencil or Marker
- Kid Friendly Scissors
- Hand-Held Stapler
Directions:
- First things first – squirt your choice of color of craft paint on a small paper plate.
- Place a LARGE paper plate in front of your child.
- Have children decorate their single paper plate however they like with the paint you just put on the smaller plate! We went with a striped pattern {like the iconic peppermint candy look} but honestly, this part is a free-for-all!
- Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
- Next grab your red or green cardstock, pencil and scissors.
- Trace both your child’s hands on the cardstock {a pair per paper plate} and trim out with scissors.
- To finish off the Handprint Peppermint Christmas Candy craft – staple the cardstock handprints to the paper plate to create the “wrapper” of the candy.
- Then add other embellishments you see fit before displaying proudly!!!
- Don’t forget to show off your creations with us! #gluedtomycrafts
