Paper Plate Christmas Bear
This is an adorable and easy Christmas craft that your child will love to make. All you need are some paper plates, scissors, and a little bit of paint! Let’s get started!
Craft Supplies:
- Small Paper Plate
- Craft Scissors
- Brown Craft Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
- Brown Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Black Sharpie Marker
- Red Sharpie Marker
- Wiggle Eye Stickers
- Glue Stick or School Glue
- Felt Santa Hat Sticker
- Office Stapler
- Embellishments
Directions:
- First cut your small paper plate in half. Straight up the center to make TWO equal sized pieces.
- Reserve one paper plate half for today’s holiday teddy bear craft and save the other for a rainy day!
- Now grab your brown craft paint and foam paint brush.
- Squirt some paint in the center of the plate.
- Use the paint brush to paint the paper plate half until it’s completely brown.
- Set aside the paper plate, in an undisturbed area, to allow it to dry completely.
- Now grab all your cardstock paper and scissors.
- Out of the brown colored cardstock cut out a head for the bear, along with TWO short, rectangle legs and a little circle for his tail.
- Use the black sharpie marker to draw on a face, on the head paper cutout you just made.
- Go ahead and adhere the wiggle eyes in place, as well, so he can see.
- Out of the white cardstock cut out a large candy cane shape {you can always look for pre-cut store versions or cut one out using your Cricut machine.}
- Use the red sharpie marker to give your white candy cane cutout it’s iconic red stripes.
- Now it’s time to adhere ALL your paper pieces you just made, to the painted paper plate half from earlier.
- To finish off the Paper Plate Christmas Bear kid craft – start off my stapling {and/or gluing} the paper head cutout, to one end of the painted paper plate piece.
- Follow that up with the rectangle legs, his circle tail and finally the candy cane cutout between his arms & legs.
- Add other embellishments to really give it that Christmas-y look {like a Santa hat sticker on his head!}
- Then display your paper holiday creation proudly for all to see!
- Don’t forget to snap a few pictures with your phone, to share with us on your various social media sites!! #gluedtomycrafts
