Candy Cane Keepsake Craft Idea for Kids

You CANE do it! This thumbprint candy cane craft is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and it doubles as a sweet gift idea that kids can give to their parents or caretakers!

All you need is an ink pad, paper, and a printer to create this fun holiday craft. Don’t forget to download the free printable template that I’ve included below for your convenience.

This is a really fun and easy Christmas craft for kids! Just grab an ink pad and our FREE printable!

Fingerprint Candy Cane Keepsake

This candy cane fingerprint poem craft is perfect for kids! It’s easy, fun, and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. Plus, it’s a great activity to do with the family. Print out the free printable and get started today!

Craft Supplies:

  • Candy Cane Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable RED Ink Pad
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First print out the free template printable on a sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per craft.
  • Next grab your red ink pad. Have children press their thumb {or any other finger} on the ink pad, then in one of the empty spaces in candy cane design.
  • Repeat {and alternate} between each empty space of the heart design.
  • When done adding the fingerprints, clean off your fingers with a baby wipe and a quick trip to the sink.
  • To finish off the fingerprint candy cane craft, add on various small stickers and help your child write their name in the provided blank spot.
  • Then display proudly!
