Craft Supplies:

  • Candy Cane Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Single Hole Punch
  • Brown Pipe Cleaners
  • Large Googly Eyes
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First grab and print outthe FREE CANDY CANE PRINTABLE. ONE print gives you TWO opportunities to do this reindeer craft.
  • Next go ahead and color in the two candy cane designs on the paper. I HIGHLY suggest making the tip of the candy cane red {for the reindeer nose} and building from there.
  • When done coloring, it’s time to cut them out and discard the excess paper.
  • We are heading towards the last few steps. Grab your TWO brown pipe cleaners and hole punch.
  • Punch a hole in the top of your decorated paper candy canes.
  • Thread the pipe cleaners through the hole, so you can twist and tie it for the reindeer antlers.
  • The final step is gluing on the wiggle eyes so they can see and guide Santa’s sleighs on the big night!
  • At this point in time you can add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then when you are ready, carefully lay the pipe cleaner antlers on a tree branch, so the reindeer hangs nicely.

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
